In keeping with its mission and covenant with Habitat for Humanity International, York
Habitat for Humanity tithes 10% of undesignated funds to its sister affiliate in Uganda, Africa. Through our support,
thousands of people in Uganda now have decent homes protecting families from the often harsh environment. While we spend
around $75,000 to build a home in York (above and beyond property costs), in Uganda, the cost is only $1,800. Compared to
homes built in the United States, these homes are very basic, but compared to other dwellings in Uganda, a Habitat home is
as much a life-changing event as it is in York, Pennsylvania!
