Political parties in York unite to build a home with York Habitat for Humanity in 2008

The “Unity Build” aims to bring together the people of York County, regardless of beliefs and political affiliations, to revitalize a part of the York community and provide affordable housing to a family in need.  In a year of political change, the Unity Build paves the way for a bright future in York County, and across the country.  Beginning this summer, the Unity Build will be a part of York Habitat for Humanity’s East Prospect Street project in the City of York.  Construction is set to begin near the end of August and continue until complete in November.

The cost to complete the Unity Build is  $70,000 with much of the labor coming from volunteers.  To support the Unity Build, financial donations and volunteers to help with construction are needed.  No experience is necessary to work on the construction of the home.  Financial contributions are tax deductible and can be made to York Habitat for Humanity, Attn: Unity Build, 36 North Highland Avenue, York, PA 17404.  Credit card donations can be made by calling York Habitat at (717) 854-6168 or by clicking on the link below to make a donation online through the Network for Good's secure website.
