YHFH extends opportunities
to members of the community - regardless of background, race, or religion - who need a "hand up" to achieve the
goal of owning simple, decent, affordable housing. Habitat partners meet minimum and maximum income standards, show ability
to assume low cost, zero-interest mortgages, and agree to "invest" themselves in Habitat's mission of providing
a "hand-up" rather than a "hand-out" through use of their time and talents.
Habitat unites people from all walks of life - families and singles; young adults and the "young
at heart"; faith communities; small businesses and large corporations; civic organizations; elected officials; able-bodied
men and women and those struggling with mental and physical challenges; folks from all socio-economic situations, races, and
backgrounds - to build and rehabilitate homes as cost-effectively as possible. Working side-by-side in a variety of capacities
members of the community put differences aside to make a difference in the lives of others.
