York Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people from all walks of life to build and renovate houses, so that there are decent houses in decent communities where people can experience God’s love and grow into all that God intends. Habitat for Humanity is a people-to-people partnership whereby families in need work side-by-side with compassionate volunteers. In addition, people/communities are matched with resources providing the “hand up” (not hand out) they need to acquire adequate shelter and the education they need to maintain it. Habitat is committed to the development and uplifting of families and communities through Habitat’s unique homeownership program. Habitat’s program is based on the conviction that Christian discipleship must be lived out in practical ways, through loving and serving one another.
York Habitat for Humanity is located at 33 South Seward Street in the borough of West York. Directions: Heading west of Market Street, continue past the fairgrounds. At the stop light by York Fish & Oyster, continue about two more blocks on Market. Turn left on S. Seward Street. YHFH is on the left.
