York Habitat for Humanity has announced that the organization has hired a new member for the staff.  Long-time United States Marine Corps Veteran Richard Worden has been added to the Habitat team as the organization’s new Volunteer Services Manager.

Worden, a York, PA resident, will eventually take the place of current Volunteer Services Manager, Natasha Kukorlo, who will be leaving soon on maternity leave.

Worden is an experienced trainer with the Marines with over 20 years of management experience while excelling in strategic/operational planning along with sales and marketing.  While handling diverse areas which included skill-team building, Worden created a proven track record of improving business practices for the Marines for much of the northeast United States.

“This was a perfect fit and the timing could not have been any better,” said Tammi Morris, Habitat’s Executive Director.  “Rick retired from the Marines and Natasha was set to leave.  They are already clicking.  Rick will be ready to go and at full speed when Natasha leaves in November.”

Worden’s military career highlights include creating a new system to streamline processes and was named the Northeastern Region Supervising Recruiter of the Year for 2007 and 2008. The Millersville University graduate was also in charge of activities surrounding the Marine’s involvement in the Toys for Tots Program.
