We are building a 3-bedroom, one story home in
Dover Township. The home has sat vacant for years after a fire. Working in collaboration with the York County Land Bank and Dover Township, York Habitat is ready to revitalize the blighted property for a family in need.

Meet our Homeowner:
Stephanie has been a part of the Homeowner Program for three years now. "In December of 2019, I came to Habitat completely desperate. Living with my parents, fresh out of a certificate program, taking on a new job, and out of hope for ever giving my son a life together on our own." "On the day that I received the letter that told me I was approved for the program, I broke down in tears hoping and praying I would be able to finally give my son a stable home. "As we were in the swing of volunteering and learning, COVID hit."

"God knew more time was needed. He knew I needed to know what it was to live on my own; stand on my own two feet before getting a home. God gave me the opportunity to get my own apartment, small, but perfect. Until this point, I didn't have a grasp on what it was like to pay my own bulls and be the sole provider. I worked with Habitat and my family partner on learning how to budget, how to manage a home, and lessons I knew I needed to be on our own. Habitat went above and beyond and assisted with me buying my first car. I was blessed to learn the whole process of buying my own car, making my own car payments, and getting insurance!"

As a stud sponsor, you will be invited to our decorating party to use paint or markers to make a permanent mark on Stephanie's new home. These pieces will be built into the very walls that will raise the roof on the new Habitat home.
