May 2018 Hero of the Month

We are so excited to recognize Jim McCormick as our May Volunteer in the Spotlight. Jim is a member of our Senior Corp group and you’ll find him out on our build sites almost every week. He began volunteering with us in April of 2010. He decided to become involved with our affiliate because “Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity is a way of giving someone a helping hand and I enjoy building.” When asked why he has continued volunteering all these years he said, “I have kept volunteering with Habitat because I like the idea of building houses and keeping physically active. It keeps me this side of the dirt. The hours are good, the people I work with are friendly, and we get along well with each other. I have also learned a lot about carpentry, and how houses are put together.” We are certainly glad you enjoy your time with us, as we love having you! Thanks for everything you’ve done alongside Habitat the past 8 years Jim!
