We are proud to announce our October Volunteer in the Spotlight, Joan Kerr. When Joan moved to the York community she knew she wanted to give back by volunteering, and when a local church announced they’d be volunteering on a Habitat build site, she jumped at the opportunity. Joan is a firm believer in Habitat’s mission to “build better lives one home at a time,” and because of that belief she joined our Family Services Committee, which led to her becoming a family partner to one of our Habitat families. She takes great pride, joy, and a sense of accomplishment from witnessing the faces of the families that achieve their dream of owning their own home. Thank you Joan for your commitment to volunteering with York Habitat for Humanity!
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25
