Construction Volunteering​

​You don’t need to know a thing about construction to help build a Habitat Home — you just need enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
  • We provide the tools, training, and encouragement. With projects for all skill levels and interests, we build year-round, Tuesdays through Saturdays, 8 AM - 2:30 PM.

  • ​Construction volunteers must be at least *16 years of age (ages 16-17 years must be accompanied by parent, guardian or chaperone)

The Core Krew

Our Krew is a group of dedicated volunteers who volunteer with us almost on a weekly basis.​
They are seen as extra leaders on our job sites and are familiar with the "Habitat" way of doing things.

This group of volunteers is perfect for retired individuals, those with flexible work schedules or anyone with extra time on their hands that wishes to give back!

The first step in joining the Krew is to start volunteering on your own. After a decent amount of experience with our team you can decide whether joining the Krew is right for you.

HabiTeams: Team Building Through Home Building​

Looking for a meaningful team-building experience? HabiTeams gives companies and organizations the opportunity to build alongside York Habitat while strengthening connections within their own team.​

Perfect for organizations looking to give back while building stronger relationships among employees and coworkers
  • Volunteer together on a Habitat construction site from 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Team-building activities and on-site training included
  • Breakfast, lunch, and Habitat T-shirts provided
  • Learn about Habitat’s mission and hear from local partner families
  • Leave with stronger team connections and a lasting impact on the community

ReStore Volunteering​

The York ReStore is a volunteer opportunity for those who are not interested, or can't, "swing a hammer" on our construction site.

​You can expect a variety of jobs at the ReStore:
  • Customer Service
  • Fixing Donations
  • Cleaning Donations
  • Stocking the sale floor
  • Assisting in Donation pick-ups (typically Fridays & Saturdays)
